What's Next?
Play around with your Personal iMarvel for
a while. If you want to change anything, adjust what you typed in
the boxes on this page, then click the Create iMarvel
Page! button again. When you're happy
with your iMarvel creation, you'll need to save it to
your hard disk (that will make it load much faster.) Just take
these steps:
1. Download
Please select one of the following "FTP" links to download iMarvel.
It takes
about 3-5 minutes to download the program with a 28.8K modem.
If you don't know how to download and install programs, visit Newbie-U and read their article on how
to use FTP. If you need any help with iMarvel, there's also a
manual and a
chat room
for tech support.
If you plan to use the Jukebox Wizard, download one of the following
files also:
Some of the best online shopping deals available on the Web.
2. Install iMarvel Archive
IBM users: After you've fully downloaded the executable program to your computer, simply run
the program to install iMarvel. If you downloaded jukebox.exe, run that too.
Macintosh users: create a "\starbase7" directory on your
hard disk and unstuff the archive there. If you downloaded jukebox.sit, extract that archive too.
3. Save Your iMarvel Page
On most browsers, you can click the "Save As" option on the
File Menu. Some browsers and online services may disallow this option,
in which case you can continue by running Internet Explorer 5 or Navigator 4.5.
Important Note for Internet Explorer 5 users: If you use Internet
Explorer 5, you'll see a dialog box that lets you choose which type to save
the page as. Select "Web Page, HTML only" from this list of options.
If your browser warns you that the page may not save correctly,
ignore the warning.
Macintosh users: save the file on your hard disk as "imarvel.htm" in a
directory named "starbase7". The URL address for Macintosh
computers is usually file:///Macintosh%20HD/starbase7/imarvel.htm.
If that doesn't work, find the "imarvel.htm" file on your computer, then
drag-and-drop it onto the browser icon. The correct URL should then appear
in the address bar.
More Customization
If you'd like to further customize your iMarvel page,
there is a program in the archive you just downloaded called "marvel.exe".
It allows you to customize many features of iMarvel. It's the fastest
way to create your own iMarvel, with even more customization options. More
information is available in the iMarvel manual.
You also have the option of using the more advanced JavaScript
Wizards. Most Wizards are improved about 5%-10% by JavaScript, but
there is no way to guarantee that JavaScript will work reliably on your
computer. If you want to create a JavaScript-enhanced page, go to
the JavaScript iMarvel page.
Feedback
Your feedback will be invaluable in helping to improve iMarvel.
Please tell us about any way we can improve it for you.
