ARK ROYAL SOFTWARE LAUNCHES REVOLUTIONARY NEW PORTAL SERVICE:
IMarvel.com provides easy access to best-of-web content, helpful
tips and personalized surfing tools, all in a service that can be
added on to any user's existing portal page. "The official
launch of iMarvel.com marks a new milestone in the evolution of
the Internet," said David Snell, a spokesman for Web startup Ark
Royal Software. "Our intent is to offer 'The Web's Best Sites,
Tips And Tools' to all Internet users."
BEST SITES. The "Hoo-Hah!" directory is an activity-oriented
list of the Internet's best sites. Several helpful innovations
make it perhaps the Internet's most useful directory:
* "Our activity-oriented listing method allows users to focus
on their own interests," said Snell. The directory has 27
categories, from Automotive to Money Management to Travel.
Within each category, entries are grouped by type of activity
(Buy stuff, Compare prices, Create something, Download files,
Explore sites, Find information, and so forth.) "When you have
to hack through an alphabetical listing of dozens of sites before
you find what you're looking for, it can get frustrating" Snell
added.
* It lists the best sites for each suggested activity. Sites
are often highly-rated in magazine reviews and online guides.
Many of them have received awards such as PC Magazine's Editor's
Choice, or have earned high marks from BizRate.com and other
online guides.
* In addition to listing web-surfing activities, it lists many
tips and suggestions to help people improve their daily lives.
"We have created a enhanced and humanized directory, by
hybridizing it with meaningful content," said Snell.
BEST TOOLS. IMarvel.com offers an innovative set of web-based
tools to help users make the most of their time spent surfing:
* A special "Best Sites Guide" helps users find the best
entries in "Hoo-Hah!" that match their particular interests.
Users simply choose their level of interest in 27 different
subject areas, then the Guide lists the most worthwhile Internet
activities for them. Users may also sign up to receive a
newsletter that is customized to their interests, offering news
of the best online surfing. "We believe that the Best Sites
Guide is the fastest way for Internet users to find out the best

* An "All-In-One Search Page" allows users to perform over 30
different searches of the Web's most useful sites. And an
"All-Star Search Box" lets people search an index that includes

to a user's "start page" (the first page seen when the browser
starts up.) For example, someone could combine the News Wizard,
Photos Wizard, Weather Wizard and Radio Wizard to create a
"Newspaper Weather Radio" in full color.
The Wizards can be used with virtually any browser, on any
computer. They load quickly, because they're compact and they
can be stored on the user's hard disk. Wizards can be used
separately, or integrated into a single web page.
"The really neat thing is that a user can add any combination

will automatically appear whenever the browser is started," said
Snell. "It makes it easy to customize your start page with the
